Recently ive been looking at Emily Hanako Momohara's work relating to my own. She deals with similar issuesd as my own work, loss & grief, alongside disturbing memories , actions and objects that still linger. Her images are clean and unclutered which is now what i want to gain from my own works. Somthing to ponder on my next trip to Birmingham in the next few days.
Heres some of her work;
Koden
THis project was based around a series of deaths within Momohara's friends and family. She takes images of funeral homes, where she uses trace of people and also the use of shadows to create a memory, a blurred one of that. a suggestion of a riveting narrative is a common characteristic.
